Our Fabulous Soups

All of our soups are home-made from scratch under the watchful eye of our talented chefs. Every recipe we use was developed in house by our Executive Chef. All our soups are made with fresh ingredients. Many are so thick, you could eat them with a fork!
We offer five of our most popular soups every day, on the menu, these are called our Everyday Soups. The most popular is our famous Chicken Vegetable, which you can order with noodles, couscous or plain.
In addition, we offer 10-15 daily specials selected from our repertoire of well over 100 soups! We offer new soup specials on the menu every day. Within a week, our daily specials menu changes completely. If you have a favorite soup, you can expect it to re-appear every 4-6 weeks, although some of our most popular soups will be back on the menu sooner.

Sizes

We offer soups in four sizes: Small (8oz), Medium (12oz), Large (16oz) and Quarts (32oz).
Our quarts are perfect for feeding your family or dinner guests.

Bread/Crackers
|
|
Each portion of soup comes with a choice of a bag of our signature oysterette crackers or a hunk of fresh baked bread, either sourdough or seven grain. Our signature soup crackers are made especially for us by a small company in Vermont. Our bread is made by one of the finest bakeries in New York City.

Try one of our great Combos!

One of our most popular choices is the Soup-Sandwich combo. It's a small soup (8oz) and a half sandwich. Really hungry? You can also order any combo with a medium soup (12oz) for just $1 more, or a large soup (16oz) for $2 more.
If you prefer a lighter meal, you can select a Soup-Salad combo. This is a small soup (8oz) and a small tossed salad. A basic tossed salad consists of either Romaine Lettuce, Mixed Field Greens or Baby Spinach together with any, or all, of the following 4 free ingredients-croutons, carrots, cucumbers and red onion- and your choice of one of our home-made salad dressings. For an extra charge, you can order additional ingredients from our menu of more than 45 delicious salad toppings. See our Soup-Salad Combo menu for details.

What do the symbols V,L,D mean?
|
|
To help customers who are vegetarians, who want soups that are low in fat, or who may have other dietary restrictions, we label our soups with the following codes (if applicable):
V: the soup is vegetarian, which means there are absolutely no meat, fish or poultry products in the soup.
L: the soup is low fat, which means the soup contains no more than a trace of olive oil.
D: the soup is free of any dairy products such as butter, cream or cheese.
There are some soups on the menu every day with V,L,D designations.

Lettuce Mix
|
|
Build your own salad! Start with our crispy fresh Romaine Lettuce, Mixed Field Greens or Baby Spinach. The small lettuce mix comes in a 32oz container, the large in a 64oz container.

Salad Toppings
|
|
Included in the basic price are 4 free ingredients, your choice of any, or all, of the following: cucumbers, croutons, grated carrot and red onion.
Then choose from our selection of over 45 of the freshest toppings (priced individually) to create exactly the salad you want.

Salad Dressing
|
|
Finally, choose from one of our home made dressings. The most popular is our signature Hale & Hearty Vinaigrette (there's none better!). But all our dressings are really tasty, just try them and see.
The dressing will be served on the side unless you want the salad tossed, in which case you should select the "Tossed" option when you order.

Don't forget our combos! We offer a Soup-Salad combo. The Soup-Salad combo is a small soup (8oz) together with a small tossed salad. Included in the price of the combo is a small tossed salad consisting of a small lettuce mix with any, or all, of our four free ingredients and dressing. Additional toppings are priced separately. Ready-made Salads
|
|
We make a small range of ready-made salads, which are prepared fresh daily. These are extremely popular. Each ready-made salad also comes with a choice of a bag of our signature oysterette crackers or a hunk of fresh baked bread, either sourdough or seven grain.

Ready-made salads are not offered as part of a combo.

Sandwiches
|
|
We offer a large range of gourmet sandwiches and wraps made with high quality artisanal breads baked by the finest local bakeries. Our sandwiches and wraps are made fresh in each store throughout the day. You can select either a whole or half sandwich. Each sandwich has a recommended dressing. We also offer a range of sandwich dressings, which you can substitute if you have a particular favorite. A few of our sandwiches are made pre-dressed; in such cases, we are unable to offer a different dressing.
